The Revolver was sent to the vault in Fortnite: Battle Royale Patch 5.40, released Thursday.
Epic Games announced it would be removing the weapon from Fortnite in a development update video released Friday. In the video, Fortnite design lead Eric Williamson explained that the move was an attempt to keep the game fresh and dynamic, and that vaulting wouldn't necessarily mean a permanent end for the Revolver.
Previously vaulted weapons such as the Guided Missile, vaulted in April, have been brought back after a period of time. For the Guided Missile, that meant close to three months. For the Revolver, Epic Games has yet to say, and it plans to vault even more weapons come Season 6.
The Revolver's trip to the vault occurs in Fortnite alongside the arrival of the High Stakes event, the Getaway Limited Time Mode, the Grappler item, and changes to weapon balance and the storm.
