Call of Duty: Modern Warfare co-design director of multiplayer Joe Cecot suggested a nerf may be on the way for the Grau 5.56 in the next Warzone update.
Responding to a Twitter question about when a Grau nerf would arrive, Cecot stayed vague.
We have a batch of weapon tuning in the works for the mid season update. Patch notes will outline when they drop :)

"We have a batch of weapon tuning in the works for the mid season update. Patch notes will outline when they drop :)" he wrote. He did not mention which weapons in particular would receive balance changes.
The Grau 5.56 has been the most popular weapon choice for Warzone players since before Season 4 began June 10, leading many to decry it as overpowered. The weapon similarly dominates Modern Warfare's multiplayer mode.
Mid-season updates typically arrive a few weeks into the season. Infinity Ward has yet to announce a date for Season 4's mid-season update, but Cecot's tweet assures players patch notes will outline the changes when they arrive.
